Distinguished Alumni


  • Taylor is a Louisiana native who has been dancing for over 20 years. He is an apprentice member of the West Louisiana Dance Theatre who grew up studying Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Commercial styles of dance at Joan Kathey Dance Center. Taylor graduated from Northwestern State University with degrees in Musical Theatre and Dance. After graduating, he began working as an aerialist and dancer for Cedar Point Amusement Park, Holland America, and Norwegian Cruise Lines. These opportunities have given him the chance to travel the world studying various cultural styles, learn from world class leaders, and make lifelong connections that trickle into his teaching style. Through his career, he has performed alongside Usher, Lebron James, Jordin Sparks and Avicii as a dancer for various events. With a passion for direction and creation, he swiftly transitioned onto production teams taking on multi-million dollar events right from the start. Taylor is currently based in Los Angeles, where he spends his days as a Dance Project Supervisor overseeing the install of entertainment onboard Princess Cruises.

  • Caroline is an apprentice member of the West Louisiana Dance Theatre where she danced various roles in The Nutcracker, including three years of performing as the Sugar Plum Fairy. After 13 years of dancing with Joan Kathey Dance Center, Caroline is pursuing a Performing Arts degree, with a concentration in dance, at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she is a member of the dance organization Chi Tau. Now in her sophomore year, she performed in Evening Dance last year with an opportunity to perform again this year, State of La Danse the last two years, and will be performing in La Contemporary next season. She has also performed in mini performances all around Lafayette, including venues such as the Hilliard Museum, and is in the process of building her own piece to perform at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Caroline is currently working at Dance Dynamics teaching ballet and combo classes, and will be choreographing for their competition dancers. Her hard work paid off this year when she was awarded a performing arts scholarship. As she continues her studies and performances, Caroline is exploring opportunities for her future after college.
